What is snus?

Nicotine pouches are small portion pouches that are placed between the upper lip and gum. They contain no tobacco leaf, but rather plant fibers, nicotine, humectants and flavorings. Colloquially they are often called “snus”, although strictly speaking snus refers to a tobacco-based product from Sweden.

The difference from snus

Classic snus contains ground tobacco. Nicotine pouches — also sold as “White Pouches”, “All White” or “Nicotine Pouches” — contain no tobacco. The product range in this shop consists of nicotine pouches; which type an item is, is shown on every product page under Product type.

How a pouch is used

The pouch is taken out of the can and placed under the upper lip. It stays there, without chewing or swallowing. After use it goes into the lid of the can, which on most brands is designed as a container for this, and then into the general waste.

How varieties differ

  • Nicotine content — given per gram and per pouch. The second figure is the more meaningful one, see Understanding nicotine content.
  • Format — Slim, Regular, Mini or Large. Determines how the pouch sits under the lip, see Slim or Regular?
  • Moisture — dry pouches release more slowly and run less, moist ones faster.
  • Flavor — from mint and citrus through berry and fruit to liquorice and coffee.

Contains nicotine, which is addictive. Sold only to persons aged 18 and over.
